What a Popular Congress

The media and the left loves to take comfort in President Bush's low approval ratings (can anyone say schadenfreud?). Well, what you don't hear too much of is that the approval rating for Congress isn't much better:

The survey found only 35 percent approve of how Congress is handling its job, down 5 percentage points in a month. That gives lawmakers the same bleak approval rating as Bush, who has been mired at about that level since last fall, including his dip to a record low for the AP-Ipsos poll of 32 percent last January.

This new congress has always had a low approval rating--I think it got above 40% only briefly a month or so ago. Looks like its just another nail in the coffin of the claims that last November signaled Democrats truly represent the nation and a sign conservatism in America is receding.
